Please note: This is not a live course. If you have booked onto one of our courses, please follow the joining instructions that have been emailed to you.

Before you start your course, it is important you update your profile and adjust any other settings to receive notifications. The settings that you can change are described below.

Your profile

Your profile description is your online identity and allows you to share information about yourself with others, for example, where you teach and your teaching experience.

Adding a picture will make the course experience more personal and friendly. If you feel uncomfortable using a picture of yourself, you could use a picture that represents you, or a picture of your school. Whatever image you choose, it must be a JPG or PNG file. The system will automatically crop the image square and resize it to 100x100 pixels.

Email visibility and private messaging

You control the visibility of your email address go to the 'Email display' section. The automatically selected option is 'Hidden' - this will hide your email from your colleagues in the course. Cambridge support staff will always be able to see your email address.

You have the ability to direct message other colleagues and your tutor. We would recommend that the only time you should use direct messaging is to contact your tutor if you have a personal issue that may affect your ability to complete the course. All other discussions and questions should be directed to the relevant learning forums.

The video below shows you how to access and edit your profile and how to access your private messages.
