Please note: This is not a live course. If you have booked onto one of our courses, please follow the joining instructions that have been emailed to you.

You will have received the link to our guide 'What is online learning?' when we sent you your joining instructions. If you have not yet read the guide, take some time to look at it now.

In the next pages we will expand on the guide to help you understand how our online tutor-guided courses work. This will include information about your role and that of your tutor as well as guidance so you can recognise the types of activity that you will take part in and the icons used in the course to identify these.

The diagram below shows how our courses are designed around three key elements. Success on our courses relies on you actively taking part in the activities alongside your colleagues, and supported by your tutor.

Our courses are asynchronous which means that you are not expected to be online at particular times of the day. This allows colleagues from all over the world to work together.

It is important to take some time to go through your course as soon as you enrol to get a good idea of what is going to happen. This will help you plan your time to make sure you can fit it around your schedule, and so that you can complete each activity successfully.
