This course is an introduction to the Cambridge Professional Development Qualifications (PDQs) and the role of the Programme Leader.

 During the course we look at:

  • What makes effective professional development
  • The structure of the Cambridge PDQ
  • The role of the programme leader
  • The role of the mentor
  • The key concepts of the PDQ
  • The design of a Cambridge PDQ
  • Effective evaluation and reflection

Week 1: We look at the Programme Leader role and how to facilitate effective professional development

Week 2: We focus on tools for effective professional development

Weeks 3: We focus on understanding the syllabus

Weeks 4-5: We move from syllabus to programme and focus on planning your programme

Week 6: We explore the assessment standards for PDQs and how to evaluate your programme

Week 7: We look at some theories of reflection.
