The candidate describes in detail how the text included in the style guide becomes a crucial element of their creative strategy. The relationship between the theme and the title is discussed. The target audience is clearly identified, and the candidate analyses the way in which the theme for the style guide communicates meaning and associations to them.
The candidate shows a mature understanding of the relationship between the mechanics of language and the projection of ideas. The candidate goes on to propose some text for the style guide in the form of a poem.
“For that obsidian torment inside me, I exist not live
But the devil that clamors is in war with the angel.
I shan’t pretend, me, the god crucified on own shoulders. I will yet torture myself with concrete that’s frozen in those.”
In this way, the candidate establishes the creative integrity of their response.
The candidate has made a sophisticated consideration of the constituent parts of an accomplished style guide – image, typography, text, and the way in which they work together. This attracts high marks in AO4.
