The candidate achieved high marks in each assessment objective. However, some more marks could have been attracted to AO1. The secondary sources referenced on page 1 of the supporting studies could have more consistently reflected the candidate’s intentions. More marks could have been attracted to AO2 and AO3 by a more discerning approach to typography and text. The candidate refers to the use of typography in the proposal and to Bauhaus typographic layouts in the preparatory studies. The candidate has set themselves a high standard in their visual work which is not matched in the use of typography. The candidate could have used typographic devices more confidently in the proposal.
The candidate could also have managed the body text to more consistently ensure readability. The candidate has included a considerable amount of text in a small font. This can be difficult to read and is sometimes potentially obscured using “Strikethrough” or a pale colour. Whilst this approach appears consistent with contemporary practice, the candidate could have considered more carefully how much text to include and how it would be best presented. They should have referenced all the sources used.
