2.2 Review your own practice
60 minutes
Think about your own teaching and identify something you do in class that applies active learning
You can use the Checklist section of Getting Started with Active Learning to guide you.
Write a description of the activity that includes:
what the learners do
what you do
how the activity applies active learning.
Share your description with your group
Share your description with your group in the 2.2 Review my practice discussion.
Review your colleagues’ activities and give every member of your group some feedback.
What do you like about their activities?
Is there anything that you do not understand?
Are there any activities that you recognise from your own teaching?
Are there any examples that you would like to try with your learners?
Remember: Try to give constructive and helpful feedback. Think about the quality of feedback that you would like to receive.
Refine your activity
Update your activity using your colleagues’ feedback and share your description on the 2.2 Review my practice wall.
If you have any questions or observations about any of the information in this lesson, please come and share them in the Week 2 class discussion.
