Add your own list of activities that you want to use in your lesson.
Make use of this tool to fit in with what you want in your classroom – you might have a long list of activities to select randomly from, or you might have a small number to focus on.
Use the tool to support your lesson. This might follow a provocation or orientation task, and then use the tool to select the main activity to follow.
You can also involve your students – you could discuss and share ideas, put them into the activity generator and see which gets selected.
The most effective use of this tool is with a range of classroom activities that a teacher can use to build class confidence – you can edit the activities to fit your class needs, and then involve them in selecting one at random.
Examples
Mathematics: "We added a list of six topics linked to all the work we’ve done in the past month. The tool randomly selected Quadratic equations and that became our area of focus".
Art & Design: "I put together a collection of activities linked to AO2 Explore. We discussed each of these and then used the tool to select our focus for the lesson. This helped engage the class together in discussion rather
than be led by one individual's choice."
Travel & Tourism: "For Knowledge and Understanding, we put together ten activities linked to travel and tourism definitions and concepts. The tool randomly selected the activity, but when it selected one the class didn’t like,
we chose again!"
